How Are You Holding Up?

You’re doing it. You are making your way through a difficult winter. How are you holding up? Are you remembering to practice self-care and to line up your next move? Now is the perfect time to look ahead and plan what comes next. Now, while we wait out the pandemic and the still of this season. On those days when going outdoors isn’t an appealing option, find some time to set down and apply for opportunities ahead. Brighter days are coming, will you be ready?

The Oakland Review is accepting art submissions for its upcoming issue. All work must be previously unpublished. Artists may submit up to five pieces for review. The panel is comprised of the journal editors and board. For more information and to submit your work, visit the website. Deadline is January 25.

Howard County Arts Council seeks teaching artists for their 2021 summer camp program. Qualified artists can submit their proposals to teach children ages 5-12. Camp classes explore both the performing and visual arts. Compensation rates vary depending on class size. To learn more and to apply, visit the website. Applications are due by January 25.

Also from Howard County Arts Council, applications for residency are now being accepted. This opportunity is designed as an incubator program for emerging artists and is among a number of such offerings. Check out the website to learn more about this and other programs from HCAC. Deadline for residency applications is January 31.
