“oh, this happiness is strong stuff. It’s marvelously liberating.”
-J.D. Salinger, Raise the Roof Beams, Carpenters & Seymour: An Introduction
When was the last time you felt truly happy? Maybe it was not that long ago at all, maybe you’re even experiencing this now – or maybe it’s been a while. Whenever your timeline for true happiness falls, try to conjure the collateral feelings it brings. Remember how your body felt, what was going on in your mind, how you viewed the world around you in those moments. Our feelings can go a long way toward shaping how we move through our daily lives, and it’s important that we sometimes slow down to reflect on what’s going on internally and how it might be coloring our days.
Erin Milez joined us for a second time, having spoken with Praxis back in 2023. This time, we discuss her show, Everything the Light Touches, on view at Monya Rowe Gallery until October 24. To learn more, listen to the complete interview.
Edward Povey joined us in 2023 shortly after closing Human, an exhibition of paintings at Waterhouse & Dodd Gallery in New York. The exhibition’s title reflected a central theme in Povey’s work – an exploration of what it means to be human. Listen to our complete interview with him.
