There’s No Way To Know

Everything can change in a moment. In fact, uncertainty is in many ways the only thing we can ever truly be certain of. For artists building a career, this can feel like a huge challenge. But one way to stay ahead of things, so to speak, is to have opportunities lined up to keep your momentum going forward. Here are a few upcoming deadlines to get you started.

Wild Basin’s residency supports Austin-area artists with workspace, a stipend, and materials funding to develop new work, lead workshops, exhibit creations, and contribute to the preserve’s permanent collection. Learn more at the website. Deadline is October 31.

For over a century, ASF has funded educational exchange between Americans and the Nordic region, awarding more than 4,000 fellowships and grants for study, research, and creative arts projects. For more details, visit the website. Deadline is November 1.

VIA’s Artistic Production Grants provide $25,000–$100,000 to create new visual art for public spaces and unconventional venues, advancing artistic production, thought leadership, and public engagement. Check the website for information and to apply. Deadline is November 5.

Praxis Center is dedicated to helping artists keep up the pace while building a career. There’s no guarantee that things won’t change at a moment’s notice, but there is always a way to ensure you have every chance to succeed.
