The Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition, hosted triennially by the National Portrait Gallery, honors portraiture excellence. Funded by Virginia Outwin Boochever’s Smithsonian gift, it showcases impactful individual contributions. U.S. artists submit recent portraits, chosen by experts, revealing diverse and compelling contemporary approaches to sharing personal and collective stories through art.
