What do you do When it’s Dark?

As the days get darker, there is a natural tendency to slow down the pace. To dwell at the edge of a sort of waking hibernation when activity level is kept to a bare minimum. For career artists, this is no time to slumber. Your art career is built on momentum that must be maintained no matter the season. Wake your spirits with a few opportunities to keep you moving as we head into the months ahead. And keep your eyes on this space for more opportunities to come every week.

MCC Art Gallery presents I/O (input/output) and invites artist to submit their work. They state the following ways in which artists can present work to this open call,

  • As an artist that combines art with technology to demonstrate creativity, critical problem solving, and conceptual ideas.
  • Apply as an instructor for a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or Maker-centric activity or workshop.
  • Apply as both!

For more details and tips about submissions, and to apply, visit the website. Deadline for submissions is November 14.

Future Tenant along with the Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) invites artists to submit proposals for an airport artwork installation at Pittsburgh International Airport. All artists working in media that can be printed on fine vinyl in large-scale format are invited to submit their work for consideration. Visit the website for further information.

The Fort Worth Community Arts Center (FWCAC) invites artists to submit works across every media to Cultura Del Vequero: Jurored Exhibition 2020. This year the exhibition is dedicated to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, the oldest continuously running livestock show and rodeo. All work submitted must be based on the theme of the West. There is a $500 prize for best in show. For more details, and to enter your work, visit the website. Deadline is November 16.
