Do You Have What You Want?

You can’t always get what you want, this much is true. That said, there are plenty of things you absolutely can get if you put in the effort at achieving them. One of those things is opportunity. As a career artist, part of your job is seeking out and applying to those calls that are right for you. This may mean exhibitions, competitions, residencies, grants and other forms of funding, and much more. But as we say around here, the only opportunity you will never achieve is the one you don’t apply for.

Digital America publishes an array of art ranging across many media. Selected work is published in either the fall or spring editions of the journal. Artists who are interested but are not sure whether their work is right for Digital America are encouraged to familiarize themselves with past issues in order to determine whether this is the opportunity for them. For more information, visit the website. Submissions are rolling.

The Online Performance Art Festival announces an open call. If you would like to share your performance art with the world, this is the opportunity for you. The festival goes live on the web where, for five years, over 700 artists have had their work showcased. For more information, visit the website. Deadline for submissions is March 21.

World of Wearable Art (WOW) is back once again and seeking submissions for their spectacular annual show in Wellington, New Zealand. For over 30 years, this competition has invited designers to consider the unimaginable as they create works that will be brought to life during the live show. For full details and to submit your work, visit the website. Deadline for submissions is March 25.
