Do You Know The Best Time For New Opportunity?

As we pass through the waning days of summer and the world around us blooms its last before settling in for quiet sleep, this is no time for artistic complacency. The end of one season is the ideal time to be lining up what’s coming in the next. Getting your art into the world is a four season job – and the first step in that endeavor is identifying opportunities that work for you. Below are a few diverse possibilities for you to consider.

F.E.A.S.T 2020 at VisArts invites artists to create proposals that consider A More Than Human World. Objectives of this call include: restoring active relationships with a wider community that includes animals, plants, natural objects, patterns and phenomena; cultivating many-sided experiences; joining diverse partners for inclusive investigations and generating empathy and engagement. For complete information about this open call, visit the website. Deadline for proposals is August 30.

Are you an artist who works in the medium of film? The fifth annual KURZ Silent Film Festival seeks entries of silent films ranging in duration from 1-11 minutes long. No language may be used – including gestures and written language. A jury of deaf and hearing members will select films to be screened at the annual festival and prizes will be awarded. For more details, visit the website. Deadline is August 31.

Chitro Magazine is a curation platform that brings together literary and visual arts. They are currently seeking submissions for their upcoming issue that focus on the theme BIRTH. Artists may submit up to five images and previously published work will be considered. For complete details, visit the website. Deadline for submissions is August 31.
