Have You Got A Plan?

A new year has begun with a bit of a meh. Things are not quite as renewed as one may hope, but there is some reason for optimism ahead. While we wait through this fresh phase of the pandemic, there is no better time to begin lining up opportunities for better times. Below are a few residencies to consider as well as one opportunity for financial assistance intended to support the creation of artwork.

Artists are invited to apply for residency at the Anderson Center, which offers two and four week residency periods from May through October each year. The aim is to enable artists and other creatives to create, advance or complete work. There are typically five residents at a time and the organization hosts 35-40 residents each year. For more information and to apply, visit the website. Deadline for applications is January 15.

The Hambridge Center, the oldest residency program in the Southeast U.S., is situated on 600 forested acres in the mountains of north Georgia. Artists are invited to apply for a self-directed residency program during which they can work and produce, think, experiment or rejuvenate. For more information and to apply, visit the website. Deadline for applications is January 15.

Prospect Art invites visual artists requiring financial assistance to finish new work to apply for a $500 mini-grant. These grants are given twice per year to individuals or artists’ collectives and are intended to support projects at any stage. For more information and to apply, visit the website. Deadline for this cycle applications is January 15.
