How Are You Facing the New Year?

As we wind down the final days of 2023, a year that will forever be remembered for its considerable global tumult, many look ahead with a mix of trepidation and perhaps cautious optimism. It’s important to find ways to keep yourself motivated during these complex times. The news can make it all too easy to want to hide away. But artists have something valuable to add to the conversation. Now more than ever, it is imperative that you make sure your voice is heard. Here are some opportunities to help keep you on the road to a successful future.

The Martin House Creative Residency offers creative individuals a focused time to develop new works inspired by 20th-century architecture. Goals include fostering diverse creativity, engaging varied perspectives, connecting communities across racial and economic lines, and enhancing the region’s cultural prominence. The competitive program spans 2-4 weeks, welcoming projects across disciplines like art, architecture, history, and more. The Eskenazi School of Art Architecture + Design seeks non-US resident artists/designers for a 4–6-week McKinney International Residency (Feb 1–May 1, 2026). Anderson Ranch’s Artists-in-Residence Program supports emerging and established visual artists, offering access to top-notch facilities and a stress-free environment for creative growth.
