No Time To Slow Down…

Life’s work is never done. Until the day we make our final exit, there is no moment to which we can point and say, there. That is when I felt complete. We may approach completion within certain facets of our lives, but we must always continue to strive and learn and grow. For artists, this rings especially true. An artist must constantly evolve, expanding and refining their practice, moving their work into the world and seeking out opportunities at every turn. Here are a few to get you started.

Center for Craft invites applications for one of three curatorial fellowships. Each fellow will develop and mount their proposed exhibition at the Center’s exhibition spaces in Asheville, North Carolina. Working closely with Center program staff, fellows will develop didactic material and exhibition catalog, and lead a curatorial talk. For more information, visit the website. Deadline for applications is February 14.

Watershed Ceramics invites applications for the Salad Days residency. Salad Days is Watershed’s annual fundraiser event, celebrating ceramics and locally-sourced food. The selected artist in residence will be commissioned to produce hundreds of plates of shallow bowls for the event. There is a $4,000 stipend for this residency. For more information, and to apply, visit the website. Deadline for applications is February 15.

NXTHVN invites applications for fellowship. All applicants must be 21 or older at the time of fellowship and selection is based on applicants who demonstrate the ability to uphold NXTHVN’s mission and push others to think in innovative ways about their own community. For more information and to apply for this fellowship in New Haven, Connecticut, visit the website. Deadline for applications is February 21.
