Who are Your Demons?

Fighting our demons is important work. They come in many forms from vices to full blown addictions to the little voices that tell whisper you can’t or don’t bother. It is important to confront these demons head on, to set them straight and remind them who is in charge. For some, this may mean seeking help outside oneself, while for others it may be as simple as scaling whatever self-imposed barrier is standing in you way and getting the job done. Whatever your demons, do not allow them to make you ashamed. There is no one who has ever lived who has not struggled their fair share and you are no different from any one of them. Confront these menaces head on, do not allow them to knock you from your path. Read on for some armor to help you combat those demons who might quietly say you can’t.

NordArt is one of the largest contemporary art exhibitions in Europe. Right now Kunstwerk Carlshutte invites artists to submit their work to an open call for the upcoming exhibition. More than 200 artists of all levels from around the world will be selected to participate. Artists will be selected by the end of February 2020. Artists who have found their sealegs are invited to apply for Sail Britain Residency on the Ocean. This is an opportunity to sail aboard a boat off the west coast of Scotland, to explore the ocean, coastline, ecology and communities. The next ship sets sail in April 2020. The Belluard Festival “favors the rage of creation, the need for reflection, the demand for research and the breadth of poetry.” Right now they are Looking for Monsters. Art is messy and artists, in turn, can sometimes be messy, too. Indeed humanity itself is messy and that is part of what makes it so beautiful.
