In the resource list below you will see primary sources to do more research on a variety of topics that are of use to artists in all disciplines. Upcoming grant deadlines
Artist Grant believes that artists deserve to be financially supported just like those in every other field. To this end, grants of $500 are awarded every quarter. For more information and application details, keep an eye on their websites. The Clark Hulings Fund supports painters who work in traditional media. Grants are intended to support painters pursuing specific opportunities that would further their business prospects. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible. Deadlines vary, applications must be made through Call for Entry. The Danish Arts Foundation offers grants to international artists interested in collaborating with Danish artists. Deadlines vary, see website for details. Artists residing in Washington State who are 18 years of age or older are invited to apply for grants through Artist Trust. Next round of applications opens in May of 2018 with a deadline of June 25.
New York performance artists are invited to apply for a Franklin Furnace Fund Grant. Grants range from $2,000 to $10,000 and work can begin as early as August, 2018. Projects must be based in New York City. To determine eligibility, fill out the questionnaire at the fund website. Deadline April 1.
US painters aged 45 or older are invited to apply for the Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Grant through Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM). Cash grant awards range from $5,000 to $35,000 and recipients’ work is exhibited at PAAM. Deadline is April 2.
The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation supports representational artists emerging artists who demonstrate a commitment to a lifelong career in the arts. Grants are awarded on an ongoing basis in the amounts of $15,000 and $18,000 Canadian. For more information and to apply, visit the foundation website. Deadlines are rolling.
Artist Reveal invites visual artists around the world to submit proposals to their digital publication. Painting, drawing, sculpture, video, digital, photography, and mixed media are all eligible. See website for submission guidelines.
Young Space is accepting submissions for a summer, 2018 show in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Kate Mothes, founder and curator of Young Space invites artists to submit up to five pieces for consideration. There is a $25 submission fee. Deadline is March 31.
OSTEN Biennial of Drawing invites artists to submit to their 2018 showing in Skopje, Macedonia. Winning artists will have their work exhibited and receive free accommodation. More details available at the OSTEN Biennial website. Deadline for submissions is April 30.
Textile Arts Center in Brooklyn, New York has an open call for those interested in residency. Eight artists will be chosen. See website for details. There is a $25 application fee. Deadline for applications is March 19.
Bogliasco Foundation invites artists across multiple disciplines to apply for their spring 2019 fellowship along the bucolic coast of Genoa, Italy. Fellowship periods are one month long and include private quarters with bath and full board. Partners/spouses are invited to stay for a fee of $25/day. For more information, visit the foundation website. Deadline for spring 19 applications is April 15, 2018.
OT301 invites artists to Amsterdam for a three-month residency. The program facilitates low-cost rental accommodations and provides networking and exhibition opportunities. Rolling deadline.
Nordic Art Association of Sweden hosts the website Studio Swap. Here artists can network internationally with the aim of arranging a temporary studio exchange.
