Weekly Resources for Artists

This page is updated weekly with highlighted opportunities for grants, residencies, and open calls. In the resource list below you will see primary sources to do more research on a variety of topics that are of use to artists in all disciplines. Upcoming grant deadlines

College Art Association awards bridge grants designed to assist artists receiving their MFA or Ph.D in the transition from school to the professional sphere. Deadline for MFA recipients is November 10. Randall Frank Artist Grants offer financial support for residencies, exhibitions, and artist-led lectures. Current deadline for submissions is December 1The Clark Hulings Fund supports painters who work in traditional media. Grants are intended to support painters pursuing specific opportunities that would further their business prospects. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible. Deadlines vary, applications must be made through Call for Entry.


Open Calls, Residencies, and Research Source

BEERS London invites artists worldwide, at any stage of their careers to submit for the winter, 2018 group exhibition. Past winners of this juried exhibition have gone on to solo shows and other noteworthy opportunities. Deadline for submissions is October 30.

Francois Schneider Foundation is accepting submissions for the seventh contemporary art competition. This year’s theme is water. Seven laureates receive a prize of 20,000 euro as well as entrance into a group show with other winners and inclusion in the foundations bilingual publication. Deadline for submissions is November 1.

AIR Newfoundland invites artists in all media to apply for residency at The Rooms. Multiple residencies are available in several natural settings. Accommodation and studio space is available and an artist honorarium is supplied. Deadline for applications is November 1.

Elsewhere Studios in Paonia, Colorado is accepting submissions for a fully funded residency open to two artists. Residency lasts for two months during the summer of 2018. There is a $30 application fee, but residency is fully funded with a $500/month stipend plus $1000 materials. Deadline is November 15.

Think!Chinatown in collaboration with Chashama is currently accepting exhibition proposals. Artists must submit 3-5 images plus a CV for consideration. Deadline for submissions is December 4. There is a $5 processing fee for all artists wishing to be considered.
