About Time

Time is precious and fleeting. Our use of this valuable commodity can determine what sort of future lies ahead. Artists in particular have practical reasons to make the most of their time. Opportunities lie all around and can be attained if you are willing to put in the work – and the time – to apply for them. Build this into your artistic and daily practice. Set aside time to seek out and investigate those opportunities that could be right for you. Here are a few to get you started.

Established artists are invited to apply for a residency period of a minimum of two and up to eight weeks at Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts. Selected artists receive free housing, private studio space and $100 weekly stipend. For more information and to apply, visit the website. There is a small application fee. Deadline for submissions is March 1.

Artists age 21 and over whose work has not yet been internationally recognized are invited to apply for residency at Chautauqua School of Art. There are between 38 and 44 openings available and there are no education requirements to apply. Shandaken: Storm King invites artists to apply for residency. This opportunity offers free housing and studio facilities with the goal of supporting process and experimentation.
