Four Stories

Sometimes we notice around here that there’s a whole lot of good news coming in all at once. When that happens, we like to make a point to share with the community so that everyone can share in the celebration of successes being achieved by Praxis Center artists. These real life stories serve as a reminder that there is potential in each and every one of you, all it takes is the decision to tap in.

Without further ado, here are some of the amazing things happening for Praxis students lately…

Hello creative community, Brainard Carey and team. I’m working my way thru the Patrons and Sponsors work and the rest of the Praxis offerings.

Along the way, I got my first real gallery show and have sold some pieces as a result.

I plan to use that experience and the connections to make more work and get sponsorships to grow.” -Kevin

Hey guys. I’m very excited about being taped today in Chicago for a new national TV network. During the interview, I was asked to talk about how I got into photography, some of the highlights in my career and advice to those just starting out. It’s taken decades for my work to get some recognition, and it feels very rewarding. Keep on keeping on. There’s hope for our dreams.” -Karen

Brainard Carey Thank you!!! What you recommend works. One of your recent seminars included using local not-for-profit art centers for all sorts of information Using the Arts Council of Indianapolis website, I have already been accepted two exhibitions this year. My work sold on opening night of the first one in January. The following piece of art will be in the Mad Scientists Society Vol II Exhibition in Bloomington Indiana, near the campus of Indiana University for the month of March. The curators of both shows have been very helpful.” -Jeb

Hanging painting in my friend’s beautiful new cafe/bar in Wigtown, Scotland today – was going to let her have it on loan and then it looked so right in the space that she wanted to buy it. We negotiated affordable payment terms…and I’ll also be getting some very nice free meals ? ” -Hope
