It is the time for giving thanks, reflecting on those things in our lives that make us wake up each day grateful for all that we have. While some days may feel like a struggle and pursuing a career in the arts may seem at times a Sisiphean task, take heart! Those with experience in two of the following areas:  silkscreen, letterpress, printmaking, papermaking, book arts, or graphic design, are invited to apply to a paid internship at the Women’s Studio Workshop. Wheaton Arts invites glass workers to apply for their Creative Glass Fellowships for 2019. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, able to reside in on-site housing during the length of the fellowship and willing to commit to the needs of the program and other participants. There are two fellowship options to consider, each designed to facilitate artists with needs outside the duration of fellowship. For complete information and to apply, visit the website. Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture is once again accepting applications for the summer program. While there are fees for enrollment, Skowhegan school emphasizes that financial circumstances should never be a barrier to application. A number of scholarships are available for those wishing to attend Skowhegan School who are in need of financial assistance. The program is located in picturesque Skowhegan, Maine.
