How Do You Weather Change?

Change is inevitable. Sometimes for the better, other times not. It is simply a fact of life – perhaps the surest thing we can count on for that matter. Learning how to cope with change can feel like a struggle, and for artists, who live already in a way that is less structured than many others in more traditional careers, the constant undulations of life can feel like a steep challenge indeed. But you can and will get through this, no matter what it is. You’ll pick up, brush off and keep moving forward on the other end. And here are some opportunities to motivate you along the way.

Three spots include Van Lier Fellowships for underrepresented, financially disadvantaged artists under 30. For more information and to apply, visit the website. Deadline is November 24.

ACRE (Artists’ Cooperative Residency and Exhibitions) is an artist residency and exhibition program offering resources, mentorship, and community support for emerging artists. Located in Wisconsin, it includes workshops, studios, and public programming. Their current application cycle is open at the website. Deadline is November 26.

Yale’s Committee for Art Recognizing Enslavement seeks public and socially engaged artists to create art addressing Yale’s ties to slavery.
