What Does This Week Mean For You?

For many, this week is a time to slow down. With the Christmas holiday behind us and New Year just around the corner, the end of December can be a time of reflection, a chance to look back at what worked – and what didn’t – over the year and begin to plan for what comes next. If you find yourself in this reflective period, consider including a calendar of opportunities in your plans. Whether you’re after funding, open calls, residencies or more, there’s something for everyone out there. Here are a few upcoming deadlines to get you started.

Folger Institute Artistic Fellowships support artists researching early modern history and its legacies (1400-1800). Fellowships offer $4K/month virtual or $5K/month onsite, flexible schedules, no final deliverable required. Visit the website to learn more. Deadline for applications is January 15.

Since 1983, Ucross has provided artists of all disciplines with free residencies offering time, space, accommodations, meals, and community to focus on their creative work. Visit the website to learn about their upcoming session. Deadline for applications is January 15.

Jentel Residency provides artists a serene space for creativity, reflection, and inspiration near Bighorn Mountains. Applications for the summer/fall Jentel Artist Residency are currently open. Visit the website to learn more, including eligibility, details, and FAQs. Deadline is January 15.

Praxis Center is with you all through the year. From January to December, we bring you curated opportunities, expert advice, professional support and more. Give Praxis a try and see how far it can take you.
